Science-Based Targets for SMEs

Science-Based Targets (SBTs) for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) refer to greenhouse gas emission reduction goals aligned with the latest climate science to limit global warming to well below 2°C, preferably 1.5°C, above pre-industrial levels. While SBTs were initially designed for larger corporations, there is growing recognition of the critical role SMEs play in global emissions, as they collectively contribute a significant share of industrial pollution.
